How pretty is this old nutcracker I found at the Garage on 25th?
It’s hotel silverplate, probably from the 20s, with beautiful English markings. I love the weight of it—substantial but not overly heavy. For the holidays, I’ll place it on a coffee table next to a beautiful Victorian silverplate dish, filled with gourmet nuts in the shell.
I might even collect a few more (all of them different), then set a table for a decadent lobster dinner with individual antique nutcrackers at every setting.
Hi, Eddie,
I am having so much learning about all of your great finds! You have inspired me.
I, too, love the coziness of cool autumn days and nights and all the good food and entertaining it brings forth.
Keep up your great work!
