I’m always collecting good glass, and these Heisey candlesticks from the early 1900s are among my favorite pieces. I found them years ago at an estate sale in Maine. I love their shape—they’re neither too chunky nor too dainty—with clean, graceful lines.
The spiral candles are vintage and were my Grandmother Dottie’s from the 60s. They’re definitely old, but there’s also something very modern about them. They have such sentimental value for me that I’ve burned only the tips. For new ones, try The Candle Lady out of Dallas, Texas.
The Heisey trademark, an H within a diamond, has appeared on all the tabletop glass the company has produced since 1900, including plates, bowls, stemware, pitchers, punch bowls, candy dishes and candelabras.
i just purchased a pair of “plantation “candle stick holders and there is no H in a diamond. does that mean they are fake or that they where made before the 1900’s
