Fall in New York is the busiest season of the year on the social calendar, and these past few weeks have definitely been a whirlwind! I know it's a little different from what I normally do, but I just thought it would be fun to wrap up the week with a sneak peak into my life on the town. Enjoy!

BlueWhiteBook

On Wednesday, the evening began at a tea party for Carolyne Roehm's gorgeous new book A Passion for Blue & White, hosted by Joe Nye and Veranda magazine.

CarolyneInscription

Carolyne I've know for years and have always admired her work. I think she's so extremely talented in everything she does from entertaining to flowers to decorating to fashion. And how sweet is this note she wrote to Jaithan and me in our book?

BlueWhiteGroup

Here we are with Carolyne and another close friend of mine through the business, our super talented and very sweet host, Joe Nye.

BlueWhitePatricia

Twas an evening for bloggers too! Jaithan and I adored meeting Patricia Shackelford of the always enlightening blog Mrs. Blandings. Later that night, dinner at August in the Village was divine!

Okay, boys…on the count of three…say BOWTIES!

ShowHouseOndine

From Carolyne's party at Claremont, Jaithan and I walked over to Holiday House where my friend Ondine Karady from Top Design did the foyer. Check out the gorgeous lacquered credenza she designed! Love the color!

ShowHouseStairSofa

New York is such a small town sometimes, so of course we ran into Joe again, as well as my friend Harry Heisman from Albert Hadley. Harry designed the space we're sitting in just beneath the stairs. Very pretty, don't you think?

Here's Joe relaxing on the sofa. Such a great fabric!

Here he is again flanked by two of the funnest girls I know, on the left, Karen Kreitsek and on the right, Carolyne's Roehm's publicist Christina Juarez.

PamKenDinner

Earlier in the week, on a much more mellow evening, Jaithan and I had the great pleasure of dining with Pam Fleisher and Ken Weiner of Creative Candles in Kansas City. Whenever I'm entertaining at home, candles play such a huge part, and theirs are definitely the best! The colors are gorgeous!

Here are a few of their tapers in my collection of silverplate candlesticks. Behind is a Grecian etching framed in "Academie" from my friend Steve McKenzie's company Larson-Juhl.

StevePartyDomino

Check out the one above the bar from this month's Domino! I love this frame so much, I use it on everything!

In fact, to celebrate the magazine spread this month, Jaithan and I invited Steve and a few of my editor friends over to the apartment for cocktails not too long ago. From the left, Heather Clawson from one of my favorite blogs Habitually Chic, Steve McKenzie from Larson-Juhl, me, Tori Mellott from Domino, Elizabeth Blitzer from Susan Becher Public Relations (not to mention my shopping partner-in-crime at the flea market last weekend) and last, but not least, Eugenia Santiesteban, also from Domino.

Steve and I have been friends for years, so he knows how much I love a monogram. He must have seen my audition tape too to learn of yet another obsession of mine, Grecian columns. Check out this place setting he found from an old hotel! Love the ER monogram!

SteveGlasses

Christmas came a little early this year because Steve even gave us a set of eight beautiful glasses too! Talk about Grecian chic! How great are these going to be around the holidays for all kinds of fun cocktails?

StevePartyGroup

And finally, check out the group shot! From the left, Jaithan and I, together with Orli Ben-Dor from House Beautiful, Eugenia, Mary Kate McGrath from In Style, Elizabeth, Tori, Heather and, of course, Steve McKenzie. So that's it for now, everyone. Come back Monday when I pick up again with more Thanksgiving preparations, including lots of inspiring ideas for table settings. Enjoy the weekend!
