Jaithan and I are finally back home in the country, planning parties, trimming hedges, and of course, catching up on posts. First, here's a quick recap of our trip to Kane County, where another fantastic group of readers came, saw, and conquered the flea market with us, Chicago-style! Right off the bat, I found this old, English samovar in a pretty pumpkin shape I loved.
It was a good, heavy piece, I told the group, perfect on a sideboard for coffee, tea, or hot cider, especially during the holidays. I might have even turned it into a super chic lamp with my friend Susan's help. For the full photo album (with captions!) of all the day's finds, click here. And for details on upcoming trips to several other cities, including Boston, Toronto, and San Francisco, click here.
Eddie–do you twitter? I’d love to follow your tweets. Cathybytheriver

Hi Eddie ! Looks like you and Jaithan had a great time. Boy, I really have got the bug to hit some great sales looking for treasures. I’m thinking maybe the Rose Bowl this Fall..Hummmm.
Happy First Day Of Summer to you both.

I have a request/ suggestion.
Please do a blog on all the products and methods you use to clean and refresh the items you find at the fleas, primarily the glass, plastic and ceramics.
Thanks…
What a great time we had at Kane County! The group was so enthusiastic and at the end of the day we all felt like old friends. The party that Debra, Diane and the ladies of Scentimental Gardens held that evening in honor of Eddie and Jaithan rocked. An event truly fit for a post of its own on how to entertain with beauty and elegance!!
Thank you all!
Thanks for the post Eddie. It’s so interesting to see the various finds. I’m getting so excited about joining your flea market group for the DC Big Flea!
Eddie & Jaithan
It really was a grand time at Kane County Flea Market and, especially, at Deb’s wonderful Scentimental Gardens gathering that evening!
‘Twas such fun meeting the two of you and, as Anne of Green Gables would say, meeting all those wonderful kindred spirits!
Thanks for the gallery of pictures so easy to view. You always brighten my day.
I wished i could make it to the New York fleemarket, but will be out of the country. Are you planning for any flee markets in Connecticut?
I’m so glad y’all made it back home. It was wonderful to spend time with the two of you in Atlanta…I’ve gotta get that post up:aarrrgghhh!!!
I am so jealous! I want to go flea-ing with you and Jaithan!

I can tell by the photo that you had the full attention of your Kane County shoppers. Go Eds! When is the book coming out? And the TV show? XX
Eddie, Great learning experiences for all. So exciting to see people together finding new ways to engage in their passion.

I’m an ol’ Chicago gal myself! I’ve been to St. Charles’ flea market. A great place to have fun!
It’s like everyone wants to see what you pick up next, and they’re hanging on to every word you say! You are so influential it’s amazing! I am a big fan.
