After having so much fun doing the flower arranging workshops in Kansas City the first time around, we're heading back on Wednesday,
December 2 for an evening of Cocktails and Candlelight at the factory. This time,
we're going to be making an elegant, professional-looking holiday
centerpiece, and I hope you'll join me! We'll also be having catered
wine and hors d'oeuvres, just to get the creative juices flowing.
Admission is $125 per person, and from what I've heard, most of the 60 spots are already gone! For reservations, email Pam at Creative Candles or call 816.474.9711 ext. 205.
Spaces, the premiere design magazine for Kansas City, published a great
article in anticipation of our trip, which also includes a speaking
engagement on holiday decorating at the sold-out Kappa Kappa Gamma Holiday Homes Preview
Lunch. For a behind-the-scenes look into how I decorated Kathie Lee Gifford's house for Celebrity Holiday Homes, premiering Sunday, December 6 on HGTV, as well as an entertaining horror story you won't believe, click twice to enlarge.
Of course, while we're in town, I'm hoping our good friend, the effervescent Mrs. Blandings makes an appearance, so stay tuned! See you in Kansas City, everyone!
Oh, sounds wonderful. Wish I could attend! Hey, I might get to meet you in September – I will be in Washington and Michele has mentioned her party for you and Jaithan – would be wonderful to meet you. Gosh, I will have to brush up on all things eddie. ; )

Oh trip the light fantastic!
You will light up Kansas!
Gentlemen-I cannot wait to tell all those who have already made a reservation for the workshops about today’s blog. Are they in for a special treat to spend time with you and share in your talents. Priceless! We are so looking forward to hosting you in Kansas City. Mrs. Blandings provides such a wonderful teaser to our hometown in this month’s issue of Elle Decor. With your lead, I am sure everyone will be blown away with the activities we have planned during the workshops. it will be a great way to while away the dog days of summer. Fondly, Pam at Creative Candles
I love their tall candles! I have use them all the time for entertaining. I’m sure this event is going to be “on fire” with not only wealth of information, but some great laughter and fun! Enjoy! xoxo
I love the tall candles. What a feeling of elegance and romance. I hope to be able to join you in Kansas City. I’m just a hop skip and a jump from there. Keep us posted about the event. hugs ~lynne~
Oh, I’m jealous! I’m from Kansas City, but am now “stuck” in Texas – ha! If you’ve never been there before, be sure to see The Plaza and take a drive down Ward Parkway!
You have brought Carnation’s to a new level.
Brilliant.
XO
Eddie and Jaithan, I cannot attend the last workshop, I would love to believe me! Is there any time for a morning coffee or cocktails and dinner at Zest? You simply cannot be here in KC and not get together!
Come to New Orleans and I’ll be there!!!
While you’re there, hop on over to St Louis, and I will come play with you (this is a really fantastic town, and being an ex-Atlantan, I think you’ll love all the great finds here!)
Can’t wait to see you both!
Have some bbq for me…loved the Milwaukee pics…almost made me homesick!
Hope you are both well and look forward to seeing you in LA again soon!!!!

Oh have fun in Kansas City Eddie; I just came back & will be there over Thanksgiving (leaving the 30th …..DARN)!!!
There is so much to see & there is so much to do! Have a great time, Ms. Blandings was my basis for the tour I took while there! She knows all the best places to go!
Make sure you bring your pocketbook & stroll by the Mission Mall!! Unbelievable …..

Hi Eddie, yum the peppermint trifle sounds wonderful and I am sure it looks very festive. That would be a quick fix if someone was popping in, which happens a lot during the holidays, great idea. Thank you for sharing Kathysue
If you have the opportunity to see Eddie & Jaithan, DO IT! I had the pleasure of meeting them in Richmond this past week and they (1) look even better in person; (2) are absolutely charming; (3) are very funny and (4) Eddie gave a very informative presentation. I so enjoyed the evening as did many of my friends that also attended. They took photos with everyone that asked and let all the ladies talk them to death with smiles on their faces. Why attend an expensive event if you can’t speak with the guests of honor? They are particularly accessible and just FUN! I’m sure the always lovely Mrs. Blandings will be there and give us a full report. Have fun everyone!
Eddie – sure wish i could join you in kansas city – love the place – though don’t get that way very often – do you stop in to say hi to Debbie at Curious Sofa? don’t guess ya’ll ever make it to waco ? lol!
i do enjoy your blog and style – and your etsy shop –

You will be sharing that delicious trifle recipe won’t you? Umm, peppermint and white chocolate…sounds like just the thing I need to impress the new in laws!
White chocolate and peppermint truffle! Hope you’ll be sharing that recipe with your loyal fans soon, as the holidays are approaching.
A perfect time to return to Kansas City!! The Country Club Plaza and Crown Center will be all lit It is like a magical experience for anyone to behold. I will do everything i can to make it !!!
