Mother's Day is right around the corner, but instead of braving the crowds at brunch, why not host something special yourself? After all, some of the most beautiful memories happen around the dining table when we just open ourselves up to it. Now, to inspire you, here's a cover story I did for my entertaining column in this month's issue of Serendipity, a new magazine based in my hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut. I produced the story, and Jaithan wrote the text. It's teamwork, I assure you, that makes our mothers proud! Here's the article as it was published. (Click twice to enlarge the images). Enjoy!
such great ideas! wish you could train my hubby to set a table like that for me!
Those little birds are adorable!
Eddie & Jaithan absolutely beautiful!! You are both so creative. The images and the prose are delightful!

Yellow is such a sunny and warm color and your table reminds me of a yellow and green plaid cape and shift dress I had as a young girl. I think adding color to a table, especially in one’s home would make any Mom truly happY. 🙂
Congrats!

Great article. I spray painted those same birds a brown color. May have to go back to the Dollar Store for more birds to paint white!
beautiful as always!! thanks for sharing!
Thanks for always inspiring me.
I just featured some wonderful antique detailed vases on my blog that will help create a great mother’s day brunch setting. The vases can then be given to mom as gifts!!! 🙂

I wish my mom were closer!! Your ideas and suggestions are the loveliest ever! When I was younger, I used to make my mom a little garden basket every mother’s day. It was one of my favorite things to do and I so wish that I could still take one over to her.
Gorgeous as usual! You both did a woderful job.
Pretty pretty!
Very bright and cheery! My mum would love this.
Love it 🙂
I always want to stay home, rather than go out to some crowded restaurant for brunch or dinner. This is such a bright, happy table…
My men usually make me breakfast in bed and more importantly, do the dishes afterwards! I can stay in my jammies, and relax all morning
with a big pile of new magazines! Heaven!
I absoutely adore it guys! Once again a job well done.

Bit by bit, media after media, it’s looking like the entire world is now “discovering” the many talents of Eddie and Jaithan and I couldn’t be happier for you both! Big congrats!!!
I love your table arrangement! So fun and festive. Are the plates used matching or are they all different? They look like milk glass! So fabulous!
Such great ideas!! I love the little bouquets – but I am always drawn to them – they remind me of sweet summer days and innocence!

Hi Eddie
The table scapes are all so eye catching and cheerful – very creative as well,
perfect for any mother’s day! Thanks for sharing. Ciao
Just beautiful! I, too, love those little birds. Who wouldn’t want to sit down and have a little mimosa at that table? It just makes me smile.
Oh, Eddie, my mom would love this! She’s a big fan of yellow and antiques 🙂 I just adore those birds!
(and a sidenote, I got silly excited when I saw the “213 ways to improve your life.” 213 is my favorite number!)
So pretty! Well done! It’s funny, I used to never like yellow and now I simply love it… I’m inspired to start sprinkling it in here and there in my own home.
You guys make me want to throw a party!
Lovely. You and Jaithan are a perfect team. 🙂
Eddie, Jaithan: I hope my sons will one day think like you!
