After three days of filming, I was anxious to get back to my garden, where the peonies, sweetly scented with milky white petals, had burst into bloom.
In a crystal compote from an antique mall in New Hartfordβa surprise from Jaithan!βI did a quick, easy arrangement for the sideboard in our dining room. What's blooming in your garden these days?
That Jaithan really is a sweetheart, isn’t he? Looking forward to seeing both of you at the WOW event in Chicago next week; just sorry I’ll miss Randolph Street Market that weekend to see what treasures you’ll find there.
Gorgeous!
Wow Eddie and Jaithan, I just left Mrs B’s post of peonies, they are everywhere and so beautiful!!

The “fox gloves” – a deep lovely shade of amethyst are in bloom!
love your peonies against all that glow of the brass.

Love peonies. They are just beautiful. Have a great week.
Every arrangement you make is just — beyond! Gorgeous compote, too! My peonies have already gone but my hydrangeas are starting to bloom! Enjoy this beautiful day!! xoxo Elizabeth
Beautiful! I miss the white peonies I had at my house in Virgia. Now the only think blooming is what I find at the corner bodega – and right now it’s Pink Peonies!
Ha! Looks like you already know. I wish I had white. Hydrangea next.
So pretty Eddie, I don’t have any white ones, light pink and a really deep pink….we got so much rain over the week-end that mine are drooping right now, I must get out there and stake them up !!!
All the best,
kathy π
Gorgeous!! Every corner of your home is just breathtaking! Are you two looking to adopt an almost 26-year-old? If so, I’ll start packing my bags.
of course the peonies look gorgeous here, but i also love the mix of silver and brass pieces…i am paralyzed as to what to display on a sideboard in my dining room now and i started thinking about mixing metals…after seeing this picture, i’m inspired, as usual eddie. thanks!
what a thoughtful present from Jaithan! nothing much is growing in my garden…may need to rub thumbs with you when you get to Atlanta π

Did that link go through? It’s on Twitter!
Beautiful, our peonies are on the way out here in VA unfortunately. Wish I had your talent to make everything look so perfect!
Peonies are, by far, my favorite. They’re beautiful in the garden and inside, filling the air with their sweet scent.
Lovely. I am still cutting big blue hydrangeas. Wish I had peonies though…maybe I’ll plant some next year.
Love, Love, Love Peonies. And Hydrangeas, and Dahlias…Such pretty blooms you have.
Beautiful compote – want one. My garden has foxglove, columbine, phlomis, sage and poppies bursting forth right now.

I have pink and white peonies from our local farmers market all over the house right now. They make me so happy and add so much color to the rooms!
I would love to have some peonies in my garden. Maybe next year. I do have to say though that I have some amazing blue hydrangeas!
Blooming in my garden right now are pink peonies, linten rose, wide variety of roses and iris. Azaleas are just about done and the hydrangeas are just getting started.
Loving the scent of star jasmine…it may be lowly but the fragrance always reminds me of my fav time of the year!
your peonies are beautiful! i also love dahlias. sadly i don’t have any growing in my yard, but i get them from the farmers market.
So lovely but I’m laughing at the butter tub.
I have a walled garden that the rabbits can’t get into . . . thankfully! Right now I have roses blooming in every bed, along with pink hollyhocks, blue & white verbena,a couple of pink Rose of Sharon (I LOVE pink!), yellow gazanias, deep purple petunias, white phlox, pastel snapdragons, blue, blue Bachelors Buttons and Pink Chintz Thyme growing between the flagstones. It’s a very happy cottage-type garden to be in, with tiny white tree lights looping through all the trees. Can you tell that I love to garden???
Beautiful Eddie, so glad you are taking some time to enjoy your garden, you deserve a little R&R. Hope all went well with filming, I can hardly wait to hear more about it!! My garden is blooming with jasmine , bauer vine and french perfume roses. It smells pretty heavenly back in my backyard. Thank you for leaving me a comment on my backyard bubbler post I always love it when you and Jaithan come for a visit to my blog. Maybe someday I will get you back out to Calif for a visit in person, Hugs to you both,Kathysue
The red bee balm is ready to bloom amongst the white gardenias. Love the contrast. Plan to plant more peonies in the front yard. Ours were stunning around Mother’s Day. Hope to see you both in Atlanta!
The crystal compote is great and I wish that I had some peonies in my garden right now–so beautiful. Thanks, Mary
hydrangeas! I have some on the kitchen counter. Vinca, ice plant, portulaca, black and blue salvia, spiderwort, yellow daylillies, spirea, carpet roses. Morning glory vine just starting up. Slugs are leaving their silver trails all over my marigolds! any suggestions?
It is really hard to get fresh peonies in my country… But, I always wish to have a pot of fresh peonies on my dining table. π
Our beautiful pink peonies came too early and are now done. I have so many lilies about to pop and several hibiscus that were beautiful last year almost ready! I do love the hydrangeas and we have about 5 bushes! I would like to get the one that blooms throughout the summer!
Blue and pink hydrangeas, impations, cocks comb, tea and florabunda roses. Climbers are finished for now. Hot (95*), humid and raining every day.
I just love peonies, they are so pretty! I cannot grow them here in AZ, but I sure can buy them at Trader Joes π
I have Dahlia’s I am trying to grow, they have just broke ground and are growing like weeds now. I hope they will survive the heat long enough to bloom! π

Peonies are my absolute favorites! My peonies have finished blooming in North Carolina and now, the hydrangeas are keeping us company {my second favorite}. The funny thing is, my hydrangeas have always been a vibrant blue and this year, they are pink! How fun.
Oh how I wish I could grow these in Santa Cruz… I love this arrangement so much, simple and lovely.
This year I’m growing what decided to stay and come up: a crazy assortment of antique roses, pink geraniums, poppies, nasturtiums, bells of Ireland. It is so terribly clashing that I decided to embrace it and throw in some heirloom tomatoes. I haven’t had more than a few spare hours to spend on it this year, so I’m just happy things are alive π
Beautiful as always, I can smell their fragrance from here! I just whipped up a nikko blue hydrangea and free spirit (orange) rose arrangement for a dinner party, I’ll add to it my blog, you DO inspire me! Safe travels, *Amy
Hi Eddie and Jaithan,
What a work of art! A gorgeous photograph – I just love the warmth of the gold against the delicate softness of the white.
xoxoTrina
I love peonies. However, so do the ants! LOL! Thought I would plant them at my kitchen window so that I could open the window and savor their fragrance. Now the pesky ants are driving me crazy! LOL!
Hydrangeas…I have them everywhere. I β₯ them!
