If you need a good pick-me-up, pick up the new issue of InStyle.
It's their annual bright-fest (aka the Color Issue), bursting with fun and easy ways to brighten your look and your home. Check out this cool, colorblock table I did!
Color, especially where it's least expected, is the fastest way to transform a room. But even if you're not willing to paint your walls lime green, or a peachy shade of pink, you can always brighten the room by bringing those hues straight to the table. Just pick a pretty palette and go with it.
Flowers (along with gorgeous, antique china) are my favorite way to surprise and delight guests with color! Here's a shot of the peonies, hydrangeas and anemone from the flower market in New York before I made the arrangement. (Pssssst: Look who's picking up the flowers on the shelf below!)
And here's a version of the table in studio with green glassware and handmade tapers from our friends at Creative Candles. Talk about an easy pick-me-up—their colors make me happy!
Huge thanks to Michelle Hainer, Joanna Bober, Kate Donovan and everyone over at InStyle for bringing me on for the shoot. It's an honor to be included with such tastemakers as Antony Todd and Steven Gambrel Have a bright and cheery weekend, everyone!

What a fun table! Love the colors!
OH, those pink peonies! Just gorgeous Eddie. Do you know they pronounce it “pea-oh-knee” (with the emphasis on the “oh”) down here? Wow, I didn’t know what they were talking about!
Libby
Lovely!!
Your Spring ideas are sublime!
Absolutely gorgeous! One of my favorites yet. Where did you get those napkins? I need them. Are you guys at Roundtop? I’m so jealous. This is the first show in seven years I’ve missed. We go every Spring and Fall with an 18ft. Rental truck and driver. My niece just had a baby , so no go this time. Was hoping to meet up with your group. Maybe another time. Your gonna love Roundtop. Mona

I featured your website at stylesson.com today. I love the colors and table setting that you created for InStyle. Fabulous, as always!
Congrats on the spread…it is beautiful, as always. And to think that you and Martha have flowers on the same rack…Happy Spring to you both!
Loved seeing you in Instyle! What a beautiful table, it was definitely an inspiration for me as I need to update our table linens. We just received some blue and purple linens from the Barefoot store in Sri Lanka and I can’t wait to mix them with some other bold colors. Your pink and green flowers from the market remind me so much of my bridesmaid bouquets…we used that same palette!
Even though the tapers were edited from the color story, we were thrilled to learn that you had worked with InStyle on this shoot. Love the pop of colors as a true harbinger that there will indeed be a Spring!
Yes, it is definitely time to bring back the pretty tables. Fresh flowers always do the trick. Nice job.
